Topcliff cottage is a attractive period cottage, spread over three floors and originally dates back to the 1860's.  It features exposed beams and white oak doors throughout.  It has undergone a total refurbishment in 2015 and is finished in a contemporary style with uPVC windows and LED lighting throughout.  The cottage features state-of-art equipment and unlimited high speed business grade internet access with WiFi.  Entertainment is offered via streaming services; for your convenience, some electrical sockets feature direct USB charging for smartphones and tablets. 


Located in Ringmore and very close to the Teign estuary, it is a 5 minute level walk into the centre of picturesque Shaldon.The cottage benefits from off street parking for one medium sized family car.


Your well behaved dog is very welcome. 


Ground Floor 


The Kitchen is newly refurbished and features quartz worktops and grey painted cupboards.  Fully equipped kitchen, all appliances are brand new as of 2016 and include:  electric hob, cooker hood, double oven, dishwasher, washing machine, under-counter fridge and freezer, microwave and Pure DAB radio.  Inbuilt USB wall charging sockets. 


The Dining Room features a view to the courtyard and seating for 4 adults.  High chair is also available.  Inbuilt USB wall charging sockets. 


The Lounge is very comfortable  with modern furniture,  a bay window, fireplace with exposed beam and door to the patio courtyard.


Two twin seater sofas and , side lamp and table, electric log burner effect fire.  Smart, flat screen Sony 4K HD internet enabled TV on articulated arm and includes free subscription to Netflix.  A Bose Bluetooth enabled wireless speaker is provided for music streaming from smartphones, tablets and laptop computers.  Inbuilt USB wall charging sockets. 


Stairs leading to first Floor:  Both flights of stairs are steep and don't have a hand rail.


The Bathroom has roll top freestanding white bath and 'telephone' style shower hose attachment.  Fully tiled power-shower cubicle, toilet and handbasin with shaver socket. 


The Second Bedroom. Lovely light, bright room with two single beds, bedside table, chest of drawers.  In-built USB wall charging sockets. A travel cot is provided.


The Airing Cupboard with shelving and radiator.

Accessed from the sitting room or via a secure pedestrian gate, the delightful courtyard features paving and high-level stone rendered walls and deep flower beds.  Outside lights.  Ideal for the evenings in the summer months sitting around the garden table and chairs. 


It also has a covered storage area suitable for bikes.

Booking terms
GENERAL INFORMATION

Security deposit

A security deposit for £100 is charged on Topcliff Cottage. A separate cheque for this amount should be sent with your balance payment. The cheque will be shredded at the end of your holiday unless any deductions for damage or extra cleaning are necessary. Keys can be collected only from our Shaldon office from 3pm on the day of arrival.

Under no circumstances will the keys be passed out until all monies are paid, including security deposit.
Arrival: All properties will be available for occupation from 3pm on the day of arrival.

Departure: Properties must be vacated and keys returned by 10am on the day of departure.

Cleaning: The property must be left in a clean and tidy condition and we would make a special request that you leave the property as you find it including replacing furniture which may have been moved. A deduction will be taken from the security deposit should this not be the case.

Complaints: Any problems that may arise during the course of your holiday must be taken up immediately with the caretaker of your property. If you cannot resolve the problem you must also immediately telephone Cottages South West. However, we cannot entertain any complaints which are reported after the completion of the holiday.


Pets: If a dog is welcome, it is on the understanding that it is kept strictly under control and not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture or left alone in the accommodation at any time. Where dogs are allowed, there is an extra charge of £25 per week. Dogs should be exercised off the premises.
Any extra cleaning occasioned by dogs will be charged extra.

Change Over Day: This day will be a Friday or Saturday as specified within each properties details.

Cots: Unless specified, cots are not supplied. If you would prefer to hire a cot, high chair, this can be arranged.

Parking: Please note that Shaldon is an old fashioned fishing village with many narrow lanes – parking can be difficult during the summer months in the village. Where street parking is indicated it may not always be possible to park adjacent to your cottage. There is a large public car park a short walk away.
