HOW TO BOOK

Once you’ve chosen your holiday cottage/apartment, provisional bookings may be made in the first instance by telephone (01626) 872314 and will be held for 5 working days pending receipt of the booking form and deposit. The balance is payable six weeks before the commencement of the holiday. Upon receipt of this, full details regarding collection of the key, linen and directions to the property will be sent to you.


SHORT BREAKS
Short breaks are normally from October to March with a minimum of 3 nights stay. Short breaks may also be booked at other times, subject to late availability, and are payable in full at the time of booking.

 

Booking and General Information

Bookings

Your booking, which must be on our Booking Form or via our website and sent to us with a deposit of one-third of the total price, will only be effective when confirmed by us in writing. The balance, together with a ‘Damages Deposit’ of £100, must be received by us (as agents for the owner) no later than six weeks before the beginning of your holiday. In the event of cancellation, you will be liable for the whole quoted price for the period booked.

Confirmation and Payment

Please note, your booking is not guaranteed until we receive your deposit payment and completed booking form and we have confirmed your booking in writing. We are happy to make provisional bookings for up to 24 hours, depending on how far in advance you are booking your holiday.

Smoking

All of our properties are strictly non-smoking. The tenant may not smoke within the Property or allow any member of their party or other invited persons to smoke within the property. Any breach of this rule will result in the termination of the Tenant’s booking and a request to vacate immediately. All monies paid will be forfeited.

Arrival and Departure

Most of our properties offer arrival from 3pm and departure by 10am. Please check the website or call us to confirm timings for your chosen property.

Cleaning

The property must be left in a clean and tidy condition and we would make a special request that you leave the property as you find it including replacing furniture which may have been moved. A deduction will be taken from the security deposit should this not be the case.

Complaints

Any problems that may arise during the course of your holiday must be taken up immediately with the caretaker of your property. If you cannot resolve the problem, you must also immediately telephone Cottages South West. However, we cannot entertain any complaints which are reported after the completion of the holiday.

Pets

If a dog is welcome, it is on the understanding that it is kept strictly under control and not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture or left alone in the accommodation at any time. Where dogs are allowed, there is an extra charge of £25 per week. Dogs should be exercised off the premises. Any extra cleaning occasioned by dogs will be charged extra.

Cots

Unless specified, cots are not supplied. If you would prefer to hire a cot and/or high chair, this can be arranged through Cottages South.

Parking

Please note that Shaldon is an old fashioned fishing village with many narrow lanes- parking can be difficult during the summer months in the village. Where street parking is indicated it may not always be possible to park adjacent to your cottage. There is a large car park a short walk away.
