There are lovely walks, craft studios, a tea room with outside sitting space. Cockington village dates from Saxon times, its narrow streets are Lined with thatched cottages. It has a forge, a beautiful church....

You are able to get the 22 bus from Shaldon, which is a pleasant trip along the coast to the stop at the Livermead Hotel alight, On foot Cockington Court is just a one mile walk from Torquay sea front. There is a walking route signposted from the seafront starting at Cockington Lane, just before the Livermead Hotel. The route takes you through the water meadows on a boardwalk. Wheelchair and pushchair friendly.  You can of course travel by car as there is parking.               ...

  Dartmoor Walking Festival 2016 The Festival will run from Saturday 27thAugust until Sunday 4th September 2016 inclusive and will cover all areas of Dartmoor and is open to everybody of all ages and abilities. It will be very clearly marketed as ‘Dartmoor on your Doorstep’ with this chosen time of year being the last week of the summer holidays encompassing the August Bank Holiday weekend to start it off and ending in the first week of September. This will hopefully allow our visitors to stay on the extra week in order to enjoy all that Dartmoor has to offer and also to encourage our locals to come out on the moors before the children go back...
