A long weekend of walks, waves and wine
Our break away at Golden Dawn in Stokeinteignhead, Devon
Our two musts when booking any time away, is one, its suitable for our three children and two that ‘Rusty’ our ridgeback can come with us. We wanted to find a location close to the coast but still within the countryside, Golden Dawn ticked all the boxes
The Village
Living and working in Birmingham, we agreed that this February we would take a short vacation to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. Stockeinteignhead is located south of the Teign Estuary. Nestled in grassy valleys but less than a mile or so from the coast, the village is a quaint, beautiful and a calm place; It has picturesque winding country roads and thatched cottages. There is a pub, local shop and church.
Golden Dawn
The property was everything we had imagined, beautiful country kitchen with aga and roaring fire in the lounge and dining room, it made a perfect family home from home. With four bedrooms( 3 en-suite) we all had plenty of room for our own space and privacy, but the lovely cosy lounge and spacious kitchen meant we had ample social space too.
The Sounding Area
Just a few minutes’ drive from the property we enjoyed some of Devon’s most beautiful spots with walks for Rusty along the coastal path, exploring seaside villages and plenty of toasty pubs and restaurants. Devon and the South West really do offer some of the best eateries and wine bars around.
Idyllic Scenery
If you’re after a stay that’s going to give you full bellies, idyllic scenery, a seaside experience and a comfortable bed after a long days exploring then Golden Dawn Stokeinteignhead is a property well worth a stay. I can confidently say, we will be back!
